Kanshan Shōichi (played by Tomoya Nagase) was once a wildly popular professional wrestler, showcasing outstanding performances in many major competitions. However, as time passed and with the decline of his physical abilities, Shōichi gradually lost his place in the wrestling world, only participating in smaller matches. At this critical moment, Shōichi received news that his father back home was critically ill. Shōichi's father, Kanshan Shūzaburō (played by Toshiyuki Nishida), is a promoter of the intangible cultural asset 'Noh' and has over 10,000 disciples nationwide. Shūzaburō desperately wants Shōichi to inherit his career, but due to his strict and conservative personality, the two often engage in fierce arguments. Eventually, in a fit of anger, Shōichi left home and did not contact his father for the next 20 years.
