In the sixth season, the story unfolds along two narrative threads. One is set on the island, while the other follows the characters who were on that flight, but the plane did not crash, allowing each person to live a completely different life outside the island. Desmond discovers a connection between the two worlds, and he goes to find those who were on the same flight, using various extreme methods to make them 'remember' the days on the island that they never actually experienced. Many people who never knew each other come together, fall in love, and live happily together. Meanwhile, on the island, they had long lost each other for various reasons. In the end, Jack sees the happy faces of his companions at his father’s funeral, and he smiles. Jack, who had been struggling with fate and responsibility, is truly liberated at the moment he 'wakes up.'
