In 1982, a three-person Antarctic research team from Norway was traversing the ice fields when they unexpectedly discovered a strange ship that had been frozen for a million years, along with a mysterious creature encased in the ice nearby. The talented American paleontologist Kate Lloyd (played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead) was invited by Dr. Sander Halvorson (played by Ulrich Thomsen) to join a group of researchers heading to Antarctica. After thorough examination, they realized they had encountered an organism that had never existed on Earth before. Just as the scientists were celebrating this great discovery, the mysterious creature slowly began to thaw and launched a brutal attack on humanity. After a fierce battle, the monster was ultimately destroyed in a sea of flames.
