 Synopsis
When Theo Decker was 13 years old, his mother took him to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, but a terrorist explosion occurred at the museum, resulting in his mother's death, while Theo miraculously survived. This tragedy changed Theo's fate, and from then on, he grew up accompanied by grief and guilt, resilience and redemption. However, what no one knew was that Theo quietly kept a memento from that event, which was his only comfort when remembering his mother—a painting of a small bird locked by a chain—that was the world-famous painting 'The Goldfinch' that everyone thought had been destroyed in the explosion at the Metropolitan Museum.
