Synopsis

Rainbow Village was originally a harmonious village with simple folk customs, but the newly appointed county magistrate could not tolerate the villagers' mutual help and affection. He believed that human nature is inherently evil, which led to chaos in the village, with everyone becoming selfish. The new magistrate, Ma Lindai (played by Huang Baoming), was originally a high-ranking official in the court, but he was greedy and had ill intentions. His second brother, Ma Linju (played by Zhou Wenjian), was a lecher, while only the third brother, Ma Linxiang (played by Leslie Cheung), was kind-hearted and handsome. However, on the way to Rainbow Village for his appointment, the third brother mysteriously went missing.
