Lu Rou (played by Joey Yung) opens a pet store at a resort, where she meets Huang Xinggui (played by Lau Ching-wan), who runs a barbecue restaurant. A Gui has a strange birthmark on his face; he pretends not to mind it, but secretly feels troubled because this mark has caused him to lose many opportunities in love and makes others think he is a bad person. Xiao Rou has been searching for her first love, Ah Tim, and A Gui actively helps her. After many hardships, Xiao Rou finds Ah Tim, but by this time, he already has a girlfriend. Heartbroken, Xiao Rou becomes despondent and loses interest in work. Thankfully, A Gui continuously encourages Xiao Rou to focus on her job, and during this time, a budding romance develops between them. Tim is betrayed by his girlfriend, and while Xiao Rou kindly comforts him, it leads A Gui to assume they have rekindled their old feelings. Just as Xiao Rou receives an offer from a foreign university to study animal psychology, Tim decides to go abroad to take a break. As Xiao Rou is about to leave, she hopes to see A Gui one last time...
