Synopsis

The carriage driver Zhang Dadan (played by Sammo Hung) boasts that he is exceptionally brave and fears no spirits or ghosts, often betting with others to test his courage. One day, he finishes work early and discovers that his wife (played by Leung Shuet Wah) is having an affair with none other than his employer, Boss Tan (played by Huang Xia). To cover up the truth, Boss Tan sends his assistant (played by Tai Boa) to seek out the Qian Zhenren (played by Chen Long), a Taoist priest from Maoshan, to set up a ritual to kill Dadan. Qian sets a trap, luring Zhang Dadan to the family temple under the guise of a bet, and uses magic to summon a zombie to chase after him. Dadan's fellow disciple, Xu Zhenren (played by Chung Fat), is displeased with his senior’s greed and malicious acts that harm people. He secretly aids Dadan, helping him to ultimately escape this calamity. However, Boss Tan's sinister intentions remain unquenched, and when one scheme fails, he plots another, determined to eliminate Dadan once and for all.
