This is a story about a Tokyo man over the course of 20 years. Shota Satou, who moved from his hometown in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, to study at a prestigious private university in Tokyo, vowed to climb higher in Tokyo after learning that his girlfriend was dating a wealthier man older than him, declaring that "women are just after money." After graduation, Shota landed a job at a top trading company and enjoyed a successful life in both career and love. However, as he reached middle age, Shota found himself defeated in a career rivalry with his hardworking colleague Kojima, and he broke up with his girlfriend Nan, who hoped to marry someone with an annual income exceeding 30 million yen. This led to a change in his perspective. Shota reunited with his high school classmate, now the CEO of a venture capital firm, and chose to give up his stable, high-paying job to pursue entrepreneurship. During this period, he developed feelings for Ruriko, as they supported each other, and their relationship evolved from colleagues to lovers. Shota redefined the meaning of living in Tokyo. While striving for wealth, career, and love, he ultimately found his life's direction.
