Tatsuichi, caught for illegal gambling, was asked in prison by the innocent Yakuza Shimako, sentenced to death, to visit his brother and prove his innocence, Kuroba's Senpachi or Araiso's Jubei. The next morning, after leaving prison, Tatsuichi teamed up with the young Yakuza Hyotarou, but grew angry when he received lavish hospitality at the home of Kamajuu in Aota, who had a deep connection with Tatsuichi, and parted ways. A few days later, Tatsuichi, who arrived at the inn in Oarai to find Kuroba's Senpachi, shared Shimako's situation and asked for help. Senpachi initially accepted, but that night, Tatsuichi was ambushed in his sleep by Kuroba's family. Tatsuichi used his skillful Iaido to fend off the assassins, then confronted Senpachi and found out that it was Araiso's Jubei who had bribed the officials and set Shimako up. He also rescued the beautiful woman, Okome, who was being held captive by Kuroba's family. Afterward, Okome became infatuated with Tatsuichi and refused to leave his side. Days later, despite being troubled by Hyotarou, who was impersonating a fake Tatsuichi, he hurried to Araiso's Jubei, worrying about Shimako's situation. During that time, Shimako's daughter Ochi was desperately pleading with Jubei to save her father. However, Jubei tried to take advantage of Ochi's vulnerability to seize her body. Just in the nick of time, Tatsuichi arrived and defeated Jubei's underlings with his signature reverse cut, forcing Jubei to write a document proving Shimako's innocence. There, Tatsuichi learned from Ochi that Hyotarou was Shimako's son. Tatsuichi promptly delivered Jubei's document to Shimako, who was about to be executed, where Shimako wept tears of joy upon being proven innocent. After leaving Shimako behind, Tatsuichi’s lonely figure disappeared into the sand dunes of Kashimanada, with Okome desperately following him.
