In September 1944, Britain attempted to end World War II before Christmas. The supreme commander issued an unprecedented special mission - the largest airborne assault in the history of World War II. Thirty-five thousand Allied soldiers were to be dropped behind enemy lines in the Netherlands, which had already been occupied by Germany. In this airborne mission, a small group of soldiers codenamed 'Matchbox' had their own task. When 'Matchbox' was shot down outside the landing zone, seven completely different British soldiers found themselves separated from the Allied raiding force, and their chances of success seemed slim.
