The 1989 film "The Fly II" is a sequel to the 1986 version of "The Fly." The film picks up on the plot point from the first movie where Veronica, the mother, is pregnant with Seth's child, and she dies on the spot upon giving birth to a fly larva. The authorities' research agency, Bartok Industrial, adopts the fly's son, Martin Brundle (played by Eric Stoltz), who is raised by Mr. Bartok (played by John Getz), the head of Bartok Industries. Mr. Bartok closely monitors Martin's every move, appearing to treat him as his own son, but in reality, he regards him as a research subject, secretly recording all aspects of his life with a camera, hoping Martin will help him understand his father's teleportation device. Martin appears handsome and normal, with the exception of his astonishing growth rate and superhuman abilities. Soon, Martin falls in love with the beautiful Beth Logan (played by Daphne Zuniga). However, the mutated chromosomes hidden within Martin suddenly awaken, leading to the horrifying fate of becoming the next "Fly Man."
