Punch King

The young man Ah Tian (played by Tony Jaa) possesses extraordinary skills and lives in a peaceful village in Thailand called Badu Village. He has been studying Muay Thai under his master since childhood. One night, a good-for-nothing youth named Ba Duan injures Ah Tian's master and steals the head of the Buddhist statue that the villagers hold dear. Shouldering the villagers' hopes and expectations, Ah Tian sets off on a journey to find Ba Duan and the stolen statue head. After some twists and turns, he finds his fellow townsman Ah Han Lai, who is now involved in the underworld in Bangkok. However, Ah Han Lai turns out to be a small-time thug who only cares about money and has no intention of helping; instead, he exploits Ah Tian's skills to make a fortune in underground fighting. Ah Tian gains fame in the underground fight scene, but he never forgets the Buddhist statue head and remains determined to track it down. Inevitably, he will engage in a series of battles with the notorious cultural artifact crime syndicate... This film won the Asian Action Unit Award at the 6th Deauville Asian Film Festival in 2004 and the Orient Express award at the 2003 Sitges – Catalonian International Film Festival.
