The Ipcress File

As an unserious yet highly intuitive British spy, Palmer (played by Michael Caine) investigates a series of mysterious betrayals and murders of scientists. His former boss, Ross, assigns him to a new superior, and Palmer begins the investigation. During the process, he discovers that the abducted scientists are being sold by a powerful group to the highest bidder. Palmer and his new boss decide to pay a high price to rescue one scientist, but to their dismay, when they find him, they discover that his brain has been severely damaged and he can no longer conduct research. As the investigation deepens, Palmer's colleague successfully analyzes the key clue to the case—the meaning of 'Ipcress'—but soon suffers an attack, and Palmer himself is framed for the murder of an American spy, captured and brainwashed by the powerful group. The mastermind behind the scheme is revealed to be one of Palmer's two superiors. The plot is filled with tension and suspense, showcasing the complexity and danger of the spy world. The protagonist, Palmer, faces enormous pressure and dilemmas, but relies on his intuition and courage to continuously chase the truth, ultimately revealing the true identity of the mastermind.
