The story continues from the previous part, where the train from Busan brings the zombie virus. In the blink of an eye, four years have passed, the virus has spread nationwide, and the Korean Peninsula has been abandoned by the world. A retired soldier, Jung-seok (played by Kang Dong-won), boards a refugee ship with his family at the last moment, only to find that infected individuals have also sneaked onto the ship, and tragedy strikes once again. Ultimately, the refugee ship reroutes to Hong Kong, and the lucky survivor Jung-seok struggles to live as a refugee at the bottom of society in this city. By chance, he receives an 'underground mission': Americans have lost a large sum of cash in Korea, and they urgently need someone to infiltrate this death zone and retrieve the money, offering a generous reward in return. For the sake of the money, Jung-seok and a group of companions embark on this familiar yet strange land. As night falls in Korea, the surroundings are eerily silent, while those long-sleeping zombies seem to be waiting for the arrival of 'food'...
