Versailles, 1667. Louis XIV is 28 years old. To subdue the nobility and impose his absolute power definitively, he undertakes to transform Versailles... as one sets a trap. This young king, haunted by the trauma of the Fronde which saw the nobles rebel against the monarchy, reveals himself to be an extraordinary political strategist, Machiavellian and manipulative. He 'invents' Versailles to distance the nobles from Paris, keep them under his control, and gradually turn the castle into a gilded cage.
