The film tells the story of the mid-Ming Dynasty, where eunuchs held great power. The chief eunuch Li Jinzong presided over the Eastern Factory, manipulating the emperor and issuing orders to the officials, acting as a tiger's accomplice, and framing loyal ministers. He used the black night flower purchased from the Japanese merchant Kitajima Yaki to concoct miraculous drugs and experimented on commoners to achieve his goal of creating corpse soldiers.
