The story of 'Mai Xiang' develops from 1980 to 2008, reflecting the earth-shaking changes that have occurred in rural China over the 28 years since the reform and opening up. Set in a small town called Luoyan Beach in Jiangnan, this film focuses on the personal growth experiences of Mai Xiang, a military widow who loves and supports the military throughout her life, as well as the love, marriage, and family emotional stories of several outstanding young people from the countryside, including Mai Xiang, Yun Kuan, and Tian Lai.
