Another Stephen King novel is being adapted into a film: renowned screenwriter Akiva Goldsman will direct a new version of 'Firestarter,' which tells the story of a couple who gain superpowers through an experiment and give birth to a daughter who can control fire. The government sends agents to kidnap the little girl in an attempt to turn her into a weapon... the father-daughter bond is very touching. There was a film version in 1984, in which Drew Barrymore played the little girl, and she was quite remarkable. However, that version was described by Stephen King as 'one of the worst adaptations of my novels; the story is true to the original, but it’s just so boring, like mashed potatoes from a hotel buffet.'
