Emilia is a cartographer, and on Christmas Eve, she receives an urgent task to create a treasure map of the Arctic for children. She always strives to record as many facts as possible on the map. When she learns that the famous exploration photographer Drew Campbell is visiting her small town, her boss suggests she collaborate with him since he has firsthand experience in the Arctic. Emilia finds Drew somewhat conceited and is skeptical about working with him. However, after she lays out a plan and forces him to execute it, they begin to work better together, and another form of tension arises between them.
