The drama is adapted from a comic of the same name, telling the story of Sato Shinohara, the daughter of an ordinary family from an old street, who marries into an upper-class family that has its roots since the Edo period, lasting for 400 years. However, this is not a fairy tale of a Cinderella transforming from a sparrow into a phoenix, but rather the beginning of a bloody battle and a war of human nature. In addition to the constant mother-in-law and daughter-in-law issues in wealthy households, conflicts between the first wife and the mistress, and struggles for inheritance, how will Sato face this group of malicious spirits and demons while protecting her most beloved people and things? Sato (played by Taoka Taika) is a woman who grew up in the countryside and runs a public cafeteria with her mother. She is strong and cheerful, and is loved by regular customers as the cafeteria's signature. She accepts the proposal from her boyfriend Kenta Shimoyama (played by Kohei Matsushita), but faces opposition from her in-laws because of their difference in social status. Nonetheless, she believes in the simple-minded Kenta and gets married to him as if eloping. Although the Shimoyama family’s attitude remains unchanged and she cannot endure the various rules of high society, she knows that Kenta's wish is to turn the Shimoyama family into an ordinary family, and she decides to fight alongside Kenta in the Shimoyama household.
