The chairman of a certain group, Cheng Jie (played by Bao Beier), is advised by a 'master' to have a relationship with a woman to change his fortune. He sets his sights on a single mother, Han Mei, who is an employee at his company, and brutally assaults her, leaving her in a vegetative state. Afterwards, he falsely claims in front of the media that she seduced him, and involves his pregnant wife in the charade, successfully manipulating public opinion. Han Mei's sister, police officer Qiu Yizhao (played by Jiang Luxia), firmly believes that Cheng Jie is lying and begins an investigation.
