To get an exclusive news story, Cissy introduced Xiaoming to her friend Fa Mao (Wu Zhenyu), who has considerable knowledge about the occult and secretly has feelings for her. While investigating in Huangshan Village, Fa Mao and Xiaoming learned that a strange tragedy occurred in the village a century ago, in which a famous Cantonese opera singer, Chu Renmei (Shi Nianci), was murdered by her husband. After discovering her cause of death, she inexplicably killed 66 villagers within three days. Now, her ghost's appearance is linked to the fact that her remains were disposed of in a pond at the foot of the newly constructed project. Through deeper investigation, they found out that the method the ghost used to kill was to make those who drank from the pond experience hallucinations, leading to their sudden deaths. However, at this point, Cissy and her husband had already consumed the pond water. In order to save Cissy, both Xiaoming and Fa Mao drank from the pond and jumped into the deep water.
