The Taiwanese Hokkien films once had a glorious era, during which most movies were filmed in Beitou, Taipei, earning it the nickname 'Taiwan's Hollywood.' Xiaojie (played by Li Yijie), a girl born in the 1980s, can’t believe that Taiwanese films ever had such a wonderful period, but her grandfather, Liu Qisheng (played by Long Shaohua), proudly claims, 'I was the most popular ace screenwriter back then'... Xiaojie remains skeptical about this. Xiaojie has a grandmother (played by Shen Hairong) who suffers from dementia; her condition is worsening and she even claims to be the wife of Montblanc... 'Montblanc' was the most famous young actor during the Taiwanese film era. Xiaojie is puzzled as to why her grandmother always remembers this person, so her grandfather begins to tell her a love story that happened back in 'Taiwan's Hollywood'... In 1969, the film 'Spy No. 7' was released. Audiences lined up for hours to catch a glimpse of Montblanc (played by Wang Bojie); during this time, Qisheng (played by Lan Zhenglong), who was experiencing a creative slump, had an encounter in the backstage with a girl who had sneaked in to watch the movie - Jiang Meiyue (played by An Xinya). To pursue her idol, Meiyue left home to head north, and through a twist of fate, joined the film crew as an extra; soon enough, Qisheng became attracted to her quirky personality; on the other hand, he couldn’t avoid the intense affection repeatedly expressed by the proud star, Jin Yuefeng (played by Tianxin)... 'Spy No. 7' was a huge hit throughout Taiwan, and a sequel was quickly produced, but unexpectedly, the director passed away suddenly on set! The boss then turned to Qisheng, who dreamed of being a director, to take over, and his relationship with Meiyue progressed further; at this moment, Jin Yuefeng claimed to be pregnant with Qisheng's child... Faced with a troubled movie and a love story twisted like a film plot, can Qisheng turn the tide? And who is actually his grandmother's dream lover, Montblanc or grandfather?
