Young Dublin man Gulliver Sheils fantasizes about escaping his monotonous life to live on Rarotonga Island. However, due to a lack of funds, he loiters outside Trinity College, hoping to rescue a wealthy person from an accident and be rewarded for his bravery. He ignores the affections of a local beauty, Jennifer, but his patience eventually pays off when he meets a millionaire who offers to take him to the South Pacific. When they set off, they themselves get into an accident, forcing Gulliver to realize his true feelings for Jennifer and decide to stay in Dublin.
