The Twilight Zone is an American television series created by Rod Serling. The Twilight Zone followed the successful traditional model of early television programs, like 'Future Story' (1951-53) (which adapted Lewis Padgett's short science fiction story 'What You Need' like The Twilight Zone did) and 'Science Fiction Theater' (1955-57), as well as radio dramas such as 'The Weird Circle,' 'Dimension X,' and 'X Minus One,' along with the notable radio drama writer and producer Norman Corwin (whose work inspired Serling). The success of The Twilight Zone series led to movies, radio broadcasts, comics, magazines, and a wide range of related products spanning over 50 years, including two 'revival' television series. The first aired in the mid-1980s on CBS, and the second ran from 2002 to 2003 on UPN.
