In the Kangs' Mansion in Xiguan, Guangzhou, a suspected ancient relic site is discovered, and the family is overjoyed to hear the government promise a huge compensation. At a family meeting, Aunt Kang (Shen Dianxia) announces her plan to divide the compensation into four shares, one for herself and each of her three sons: Aguang (Su Zhidan), Azong (Guo Chang), and Ayiao, with the portion for those who are not married or divorced being temporarily kept by her. Twenty years ago, Uncle Kang (Zeng Zhiwei), who left with his young son Azu (Yu Wenle) for Hong Kong to seek fortune, saw the news and returned to Guangzhou to get a piece of the action.
