The Last Anniversary is based on the best-selling novel by Leanne Moriarty and is known as "a humorous and touching comedy that envelops a gripping mystery about family, maternal love, and the women who define their offspring." The story takes place on the mysterious island of Scribbly Gum, where a young couple disappeared decades ago, and revolves around Sophie Honeywell (Palmer).She inherits a house left to her by her ex-boyfriend’s aunt Connie and moves there, and Connie promises that Sophie will eventually meet the man she dreams of.She was treated coldly upon arrival, but she found that what she really needed might be an island full of women.
