Synopsis

The film tells the story of General Tao Zhi-yue, the commander of the Xinjiang garrison, who, under the immense pressure of the national liberation war in 1949 and the aspirations of the various ethnic groups in Xinjiang for peace, decided with his personal charisma and remarkable wisdom to lead 100,000 soldiers in a peaceful uprising to welcome the People's Liberation Army into Xinjiang. It was this great historical initiative that maintained peace in Xinjiang, spared its ethnic groups from the suffering of war, and handed a complete and peaceful Xinjiang to the new China.
