The Intouchables 2014

During the Anti-Japanese War, underground worker Fu Jingnian (played by Sun Honglei) has a dual identity as a spy. He and his partner 'Shadow' (played by Xu Jinglei) were supposed to carry out their last collaboration, but when their contact 'Echo' (played by Huang Lei) is captured by Fu Jingnian's superior, the head of the Central Bureau of Investigation and Statistics, Ji Zengen (played by Fang Zhongxin), both of them face grave dangers. In a critical moment, Shadow sacrifices herself to save Fu Jingnian. The truth is witnessed by Shadow's adopted sister Ning Dai (played by Gui Lunmei), and as they deepen their connection through a series of intertwined events, Ning Dai and Fu Jingnian fall in love destiny-wise. However, their happiness is short-lived as national hatred and personal grudges lead to their separation. After the war, Madam Ji (played by Cai Shaofen) introduces Fu Jingnian to her good friend Lu Qiuyi (played by Jiang Qinqin), just as Ning Dai reappears in his life. The entanglement of dual identities and the conflicts between the Nationalists and the Communists puts Fu Jingnian in a position where love is within reach yet unattainable. Organizational duties force him to face the hardest decision of his life. As the civil war intensifies, what path should he choose to take? This film is the directorial debut of Zhao Baogang, spanning a narrative timeline of 70 years, blending elements of espionage and romance to depict the love story between an underground worker and a dance teacher.
