Rosie Yates is now 13 years old, and her family is increasingly struggling to cope with her emotions and behaviors: she has an unusual obsession with the letter X, tigers with X's on their noses, ticket entrances, and FedEx trucks, and she suddenly erupts in rage, hitting and kicking herself and her parents. Everyone realizes that Rosie, like other girls, is just trying to cope with the onset of puberty. While the family is trying to deal with Rosie growing up into a teenager, a geneticist calls to update them on Rosie’s condition.
