Freddy (played by Robert Englund) brutally murders almost all the children of Elm Street, leaving only John alive. John returns to Elm Street in a dream and, after experiencing the chaos within the dream, finds himself discarded in a strange town. At the 'Youth Rehabilitation Center,' a group of troubled youths including Spencer and Traci are under the management and correction of teacher Maggie (played by Lisa Zane). John, who has lost his memory, is discovered and sent here. Maggie finds that John's dreams are connected to her own; they share similar memories of Elm Street. To investigate the truth, Maggie and John drive to Springwood, a town without any children, while Traci and two other youths secretly climb into the car and follow them. In an old house on Elm Street, Traci and the others encounter Freddy's dream-like pursuit, while Maggie and John discover Freddy's true identity. Even more shocking is that Maggie is actually Freddy's daughter...
