The film mainly tells the story of the wealthy young man Gao Yuan (played by Deng Guangrong) and his romance with college student Li Jinwen (played by Lin Qingxia), which is strongly opposed by Gao Yuan's father. Gao's father knows that Li Jinwen's mother once ran a bar and believes that their family backgrounds are too different for them to marry.
