The Clone Wars have been going on for three years, and the Republic is on the verge of victory. General Grievous of the Separatists and Count Dooku (played by Christopher Lee) have kidnapped Chancellor Palpatine (played by Ian McDiarmid) and fled. Jedi Knights Obi-Wan Kenobi (played by Ewan McGregor) and Anakin (played by Hayden Christensen) are sent by the Council to rescue him. Anakin kills Count Dooku and saves Palpatine, but General Grievous escapes. Anakin dreams that his wife Padmé Amidala (played by Natalie Portman) will die in childbirth and, confused, seeks help from Palpatine, who takes this opportunity to sow discord between Anakin and the Jedi Council. As Anakin becomes closer to Palpatine, a conspiracy against the Jedi and the democracy they defend gradually unfolds. This film was nominated for Best Makeup at the 78th Academy Awards in 2006 and was also nominated for a Grammy for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media.
