The plot continues from the previous installment, where Mal (played by Dove Cameron) and Ben (played by Mitchell Hope) have overcome countless challenges and finally come together. Since then, Mal starts learning how to be a qualified princess. However, as time goes by, Mal gradually realizes that although her current life is abundant, it does not bring her happiness, and she must choose between her past and her future. By chance, a fierce argument breaks out between Mal and Ben, and in anger, Mal returns to the Isle of the Lost, where she meets her old friends Uma (played by China Anne McClain), Harry (played by Thomas Doherty), and Gil (played by Dylan Playfair) again. When Mal returns to the Isle of the Lost, she changes back into her former clothes and hair color, and it is only at this point that she finally feels like her true self again.
