The petite and shy Chise (played by Maeda Aki) has always had a secret crush on her classmate Shuji (played by Kawazuka Shunsuke). Finally, after gathering her courage to confess her feelings to Shuji, a pure white love blooms between them. One day, a large number of bombers suddenly fill the skies over Sapporo, and war begins. It is at that moment that Shuji discovers the secret hidden within Chise—she, who has always seemed harmless, has been cruelly transformed by the military into a 'final weapon'. Despite being filled with fear and empathy, whenever attacked, Chise's body uncontrollably retaliates in self-defense. Thus, after a brief moment of happiness, Chise embarks on a desperate and helpless existence as a weapon. Watching his girlfriend, whose body and spirit are battered, Shuji finds it hard to utter words of comfort; he can only silently accompany Chise through his actions.
