Synopsis

Alice Evans, a 32-year-old frail woman played by Brittany Murphy, is a somewhat famous screenwriter. Due to past disputes with her boyfriend, she has become quite anxious and struggles to concentrate on her work. As the deadline approaches and she learns that her boyfriend is being released from prison, she retreats to a remote village, isolating herself in an abandoned villa, hoping to focus on completing her project. However, contrary to her intentions, the empty villa heightens Alice's anxiety. Strange dreams, doors that open by themselves, eerie cries, and a series of mysterious footprints seem to indicate the presence of an unknown entity. Alice begins to consciously investigate the secrets of the house, discovering a tape left by the former owner, David, and unwittingly immerses herself in the world of David and his wife. What is real and what is illusion becomes increasingly indistinguishable...
