In 1914, World War I broke out. In 1917, France, Britain, Italy, and other European countries formed alliances, determined to jointly fight against Germany. Many passionate young people with grand aspirations volunteered to join this unprecedented war in continental Europe, hoping to end the war through their modest efforts and restore peaceful lives for everyone. Bren (played by James Franco), who lost his family farm, William who wanted to restore his family's honor, and Briggs, who dreamed of crossing the Atlantic, along with thirty-eight other young men from various backgrounds, joined the overseas air force for a common goal. Under the guidance and leadership of the French General Sainot (played by Jean Reno) and American soldier Reed Cassidy (played by Martin Henderson), each person truly understood the meaning of fighting for honor and peace, and together they formed the 'Lafayette Flying Corps.'
