The FX series 'Snowfall,' which has been officially booked, consists of 10 episodes in its first season. Created by John Singleton, the story revolves around the spread of drug trafficking in Los Angeles during the 1980s. Singleton, director of 'Boyz N The Hood,' co-wrote the script with Eric Amadio, and the episodes are directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. The pilot was reshot and Dave Andron was brought on as a producer, with the series also benefiting from a tax exemption. 'Snowfall' is set in the early days of drug proliferation, which eventually had a well-known cultural impact. Franklin Saint (played by Damson Idris) sees himself as a street 'entrepreneur' who craves power; he was born and raised in South Los Angeles but studied in a more affluent area in the San Gabriel Valley, determined to improve his life by any means necessary. Gustavo Zapata (played by Sergio Peris-Mencheta), a Mexican wrestler, finds himself caught in a power struggle within a crime family. Teddy McDonald (played by Carter Hudson) is a CIA agent with a dark secret, conducting a covert operation to fund Nicaraguan anti-government activities. Emily Rios plays Lucia, the daughter of a Mexican crime family in Los Angeles, who is dedicated to leading a clean life while her family smuggles marijuana and sells drugs in the city. Michael Hyatt plays Sharon Saint, nicknamed Cissy, Franklin's mother, who has had an unsatisfactory personal and professional life but is willing to give up her dreams to provide her son with opportunities she never had. Amin Joseph plays Franklin's uncle, Jerome Saint, a tough guy and con artist who's a low-level marijuana dealer. Alon Aboutboul plays Avi Drexler, an unpredictable cocaine dealer in the San Fernando Valley. Isaiah John's character details are not specified. Angela Lewis plays Louise Saint, Franklin's sister-in-law who enjoys the party scene. Juan Javier Cardenas plays the cunning Alejandro Usteves, a member of the Nicaraguan resistance who is willing to resort to any means to maintain the revolution. Filipe Valle Costa portrays the arrogant Pedro, an heir to the Mexican crime family.
