Tomoya Shiohara (played by Nijiro Murakami) is a senior at Aobahoku High School. One day, while playing guitar by the river, he is spotted by Rin Moriyama (played by Madoka Yoshida), a transfer student passing by. Moriyama is captivated by Tomoya's exceptional musical talent and strongly invites him to join the school band to perform at the school festival. Reluctantly, Tomoya agrees. Thus, Tomoya becomes a member of the school band and begins preparing for the festival performance, during which Moriyama consistently supports and encourages him. In the end, the band's performance is a huge success, but at the same time, Moriyama falls ill. Moriyama is diagnosed with an incurable disease, and while she lies weakly in her hospital bed, Tomoya chooses to confess his feelings to her. Although she secretly likes Tomoya, Moriyama ultimately rejects him.
