Xiao Yuanxi (played by Zhao Dan) chose to leave his wife because he was dissatisfied with her character and behavior. Afterwards, he set his sights on the maid, Yu Zhen (played by Qin Yi), who came from a fallen noble background and was filled with feudal remnants of thought. Xiao Yuanxi decided to start from scratch and personally reshape her into a socially progressive new woman.
