The quirky and mischievous underachiever girl Li Fuzhu accidentally enters a comic world plagued by years of war and the barren land of the Yunlai Kingdom in her dreams. In the guise of a celestial maiden, she enjoys treatment on par with the emperor Yun Yi. However, she finds herself unwittingly caught in the power struggle between the ambitious powerful minister, the national teacher, and the powerless puppet emperor Yun Yi, who is a failed king trapped between the pressures of the national teacher and the empress dowager, lacking the courage to shape his own destiny. While she indulges Yun Yi in food, drinks, and entertainment, she also uses her half-baked knowledge in an attempt to help Yunlai reclaim lost territories and become prosperous, but this ends up pushing the Yunlai Kingdom into greater peril. When Yun Yi ultimately dies before her eyes, she regrets all her past actions and deceiving him, but it's too late. She finally realizes the horror of lies and strives to get into university, rewriting her own ending. The story is inspired by Li Gongzuo's "The Tale of the Nanke Magistrate" from the Tang Dynasty.
