In 2029, Korea's manned spacecraft 'Moon Explorer' is set to depart for the Moon, poised to become the second successful lunar landing nation, with the mission attracting global attention. However, 'Moon Explorer' unfortunately encounters a solar wind storm caused by a solar flare, leading to a serious accident, and astronaut Hwang Seon-woo (played by Do Kyung-soo) becomes the sole survivor of the 'Moon Explorer'. To rescue the stranded astronaut Hwang Seon-woo, former manned spacecraft flight director Kim Jae-guk (played by Lee Byung-hun), who is in seclusion at the Small White Mountain Observatory, joins the rescue mission. At the same time, the Korean government requests the intervention of NASA director Yoon Moon-young (played by Kim Hee-ae) and the Lunar Gateway space station for assistance, but they face numerous obstacles. As the manned spacecraft's fuel nears depletion and oxygen runs low, along with meteor showers and lunar quakes, the isolated astronaut Hwang Seon-woo, 384,000 kilometers away on the Moon, takes a small step that could tense up humanity globally.
