 Synopsis
Mark (played by James Woods) is the director of a small television station. To boost ratings, he scours for shows containing pornographic or violent content. Mark's subordinate, Harlan, illegally taps into a satellite signal to acquire a program called "Film Scene," which features raw, realistic scenes of violent abuse. After watching this program, Mark cannot forget it and loses interest in other series. The station's anchor, Nicky (played by Deborah Harry), who has masochistic tendencies, is also drawn to "Film Scene" and heads to Pittsburgh, the potential production location, to get involved. Mark is guided by others to visit the founder of "Film Scene," Professor Brian, but he does not meet him in person. The video sent by the professor, featuring Nicky, induces hallucinations in Mark. When Mark visits again, he discovers that Brian has already been killed, and now the "Film Scene" program is managed by Barry from the Amazing Vision Company. Mark gradually falls into a trap designed by Barry, becoming increasingly entangled between the influences of both Barry and Brian...
