The relatively unknown painter Shinmura Shinobu (played by Mami Mizukawa) falls in love and marries Takamura Masaru, who has just moved into her apartment, leading a fairly comfortable life. One day, while shopping at a supermarket, Shinobu is caught by a clerk for allegedly using counterfeit money, and the surveillance clearly records her committing the crime. Shortly thereafter, the arriving detective Kana Ryo (played by Kenichi Takito) takes Shinobu away, expressing his belief in her innocence, and brings her to a mysterious venue. There, an individual named Iizuka (played by Kozo Fushimi) presides over a group that includes university student Mitarai Ko (played by Kengo Sengen), housewife Mankura Mayumi (played by Wakana Sakai), and others from various backgrounds. They have all suffered from the phenomenon of 'doppelgänger', which refers to a phantom body that is identical to the person in appearance and memory. These doppelgängers disrupt the lives of their originals, steal their most important things, and can even ultimately kill them. How will Shinobu and these victims protect their lives? This film is adapted from the original work of Haru Kodaira.
