 Synopsis
The release date is tentatively set for the Spring Festival in 2010. This is a modern version of The Little Mermaid. If Cinderella is the favorite of ordinary girls, The Little Mermaid represents true love. An ordinary life always desires an extraordinary story. Living and dying is the thirst of men, and chivalry is the fairy tale for adults. Miracles and dreams have always been the unwavering pursuit of most people. The background that runs throughout this film is the ocean: some say that love is the accident of life, life is the accident of land, and land is the accident of the ocean. Therefore, love comes from the ocean and will return to the ocean. Love between a man and a woman might just be an accident. Yet this accident could be the dream of this life, a fate from the past life. Cornflower: A few centuries ago, during a civil war, German Queen Louise escaped the court with her son. Along the way, their carriage broke down, forcing them to get out. The fields were filled with blue cornflowers, and Louise wove a garland, placing it on nine-year-old William's head. Later, William became the first emperor to unify Germany. In memory of his mother, he designated the cornflower as Germany's national flower. In this nearly blue-themed story, the male protagonist, Nie Huachen, starts as a cool youth, then becomes a carefree young man, and later reveals his strong character with his signature smile. He is the heir of a hotel. Yet, he is tired of the modern commercial competition, weary of hotel management, and yearns for freedom, indulging in diving. In his youth, a maritime disaster took his mother's life, but he saved a pair of sisters. They became inseparable family. The older sister (Sang Yun) is beautiful and capable, helping the Nie family manage the hotel's daily affairs. This modern woman possesses the virtues of traditional femininity. She is competent yet understated, wise yet resilient. She and Nie Huachen are deeply in love, and they also adopt a little earthquake orphan, a girl named Bobo. The younger sister (Sang Duo) has musical talent, majoring in cello at a music conservatory, and successfully qualifies to study abroad. In the process of growing up freely, she unknowingly falls in love with Nie Huachen. Upon hearing the news that her sister is to marry Nie Huachen, she cannot accept it, eventually revealing her true feelings and running away from home. The invisible emotional entanglements leave the three of them in a dilemma. At this moment, a financial crisis arises, and the South Sea Sky Hotel is in jeopardy. The Vilia Hotel aims to acquire the Nie family assets. William returns from studying abroad to assist his mother Sophia with the acquisition plan. He unexpectedly meets the beautiful Sang Duo, falling in love at first sight, becoming Nie Huachen’s greatest foe. Nie Huachen's father is in trouble both internally and externally, and collapses during a face-to-face negotiation with William, suffering a stroke. Sang Yun conceals her terminal illness, helping Nie Huachen fight against the impending bankruptcy of the hotel. Once Sang Duo learns the truth, it is too late for regret; she facilitates her sister's wedding while asking Sophia to give the South Sea Sky Hotel a chance. After Nie Huachen lays his beloved Sang Yun to rest beneath the sea, Sang Duo and William travel to Germany. A year later, the South Sea Sky Hotel survives the crisis. Nie Huachen becomes a steady and mature man. Through his own efforts, he not only preserves the hotel and all its employees but also maintains a man's dignity and confidence. In the blue bay, the beautiful Sang Duo is passionately playing the cello on stage. The kind and generous William gives her the opportunity to choose happiness. Thus, she faces the crowd, quietly waiting for Nie Huachen's arrival.
