 Synopsis
In the summer of 1984, the air was filled with a lazy sense of freedom. Seventeen-year-old Eric (played by Chris Stafford) is a sunny boy who has just moved up to his senior year of high school. During the holidays, he and his friend Maggie (played by Tina Holmes) find jobs at a fast-food restaurant. There, Eric encounters the charming boy Rod (played by Andersen Gabrych). Rod seems to take a liking to this slightly shy boy before him, and his carefree flirtation leaves Eric flustered, but he gradually discovers his own feelings for Rod. Under the bright sun of Ohio, the romantic entanglement between the boys begins, leading to this film winning the Audience Award for Best Film at the 1998 Los Angeles Film Festival, the Jury Award for Best Actor (Chris Stafford), Best American Film, and Best Screenplay; as well as the Audience Award for Best Film at the 1998 San Francisco Gay & Lesbian Film Festival.
