This film, along with "10,000 Loves" and "My Favorite," directed by Ye Nianchen, is referred to as the "Love Trilogy," and this is the first installment of the trilogy. When Lin Jiahua (played by Fang Lishen) and Kuang Meibao (played by Deng Lixin) decided to get married, they each had their own worries and anxieties. Fortunately, their married life was relatively happy, and they accommodated each other. Soon, Jiahua, who runs a pet shop, unexpectedly encounters his high school tutoring teacher Josephine (played by Wu Peici) during a pet funeral. Jiahua still has unresolved feelings for her, and the two often communicate via text messages. Meibao begins to harbor suspicions about Jiahua and even secretly checks his phone. Meibao wishes to travel with Jiahua, hoping to improve their worsening relationship, but Jiahua disagrees with Meibao's extravagance, leading to a furious confrontation where Meibao proposes divorce. Jiahua, heavily intoxicated, finds himself at Josephine's home, and they become intimate. Feeling guilty towards Meibao, Jiahua agrees to her divorce request, leaving Meibao heartbroken. After the divorce, Meibao meets Philip, a man made from recycled paper that was once an old newspaper, and they gradually become closer. After their separation, they each lead their own lives, only to find in moments of encounter that they still hold a place for each other in their hearts... Who is truly the exclusive love of whom...
