Dongdong (played by Anita Mui) and Xinjing (played by Michelle Yeoh) were adopted by a martial arts master when they were young, who taught them martial arts in hopes that they would grow up to be chivalrous fighters. The two orphans became like sisters. However, when Xinjing was captured at the age of 12, she lost all contact. As Dongdong grew up, she married police officer Liu Qiwen (played by Lau Siu-Ming) and became a devoted wife and mother after giving birth to a daughter. For many years, she kept her true identity hidden from her family, which caused a rift between the couple.Years ago, Xinjing was captured by the eunuch Chen Gonggong of the Qing Dynasty, who used poison to erase her memory and forced her to engage in wrongdoing with her good skills. Chen Qi (played by Maggie Cheung) is also one of the eunuch's subordinates and has a free spirit; her poison was not severe, and her memory soon returned. She shares a strong sense of justice with Dongdong but values money highly. The three of them encountered each other during a struggle for stealing a baby, but their sense of justice transformed their initially opposing roles into a united force against the female warriors who endanger the lives of the public.
