Netflix has acquired the film adaptation rights to Stephanie Perkins' best-selling novel "There’s Someone Inside Your House." James Wan's Atomic Monster and Shawn Levy's 21 Laps are involved in the production. Henry Gayden ("Shazam!," "Earth Echoes") has adapted the screenplay, which tells the story of a young girl, Makani Young, who moves from Hawaii to Nebraska to live with her grandmother, makes a group of new friends, and falls in love with a mysterious outsider, Ollie Larsson, but finds it hard to forget her past life in Hawaii. Soon, her high school friends begin to mysteriously die in a series of horrific murders, and no one knows who will be next. As fear escalates, her feelings for Ollie deepen, forcing her to confront the dark secrets within. The style combines elements reminiscent of 1980s horror films and coming-of-age movies similar to those by John Hughes, with Michael Clear & Michael Clear ("Annabelle: Creation," "Lights Out") also serving as producers.
