During World War II, a British plane was shot down on a bombing mission by the German army, forcing several British soldiers to parachute to safety. They agreed to meet in a Turkish bath and used the code name 'Mandarin Duck Tea' for their rendezvous. They landed in different locations in the German-occupied area of Paris, France. Squadron Leader Reginald was rescued by a zoo keeper. The other two soldiers were also successfully hidden with the help of a painter named Auguste (played by Bourvil) and a band conductor named Stanislas (played by Louis de Funès). Even though the Germans launched a city-wide search, the painter, the conductor, and the squadron leader managed to meet at the bath. After many twists and turns, the British soldiers finally connected. A few strangers formed a life-and-death alliance and engaged in a battle of wits and courage against their enemies. At the same time, many warm and humorous incidents occurred. They fought together against the harsh German forces with their meager strength, facing numerous dangers with humor, all for the sake of escaping the jaws of death.
